The studies
The world of fabrics opened its doors to Attilio Reggiani with the degree of textile expert at the industrial technical institute Quintino Sella of Biella. Then he started as textile designer of wool products in key companies of the Biella district.
The work
Thanks to the work experiences acquired Attilio Reggiani set up in 1973 the Manifattura Tessile Reggiani based in Biella (which in the Nineties is transferred to Varallo Sesia, in the province of Vercelli, his town of origin).
The innovations
The professional mission of Attilio Reggiani started in the ’60s when he began conceiving and studying a new product finding huge technical and organizational problems.
The aim was that of producing “different” fabrics with an aspect and sensation far from the traditional wool production of the area.
The term “different” is immediately replaced with "innovating", a definition that expresses at best the design of elastic shuttle fabrics containing elastomer (Lycra).
ATTILIO REGGIANI THUS CREATED THE STRETCH FABRIC.
He’s the first who started the experimentation and then the industrial production, of fabrics in wool /Lycra, cotton/Lycra and Lycra with other fibres in close connection with Dupont in order to make totally new exclusive products at the world level.
Among the very first items the shirt 10829 item popeline stretch was created, which would become one of the fashion status symbol recognized by the whole fashion world.
The family
A key role is reserved by Attilio Reggiani to his family. His wife Beatrice worked with him since the start of the professional activity, since 1998 she’s the company managing director, in that precise year the company became Reggiani Wool factory S.p.A.
Passion and commitment
Attilio Reggiani is a partner of the Rotary Club Valsesia, a club of which in the past he was also president and with which he dedicated his efforts to many social and humanitarian initiatives at the national and international level.
The Valsesia district, an area where Attilio Reggiani was born and where he lives and works, is a priority in his life. The founder of the wool factory is passionate of the local tradition, a key aspect for tourism for the territory, for whose development the social commitment of everybody is necessary.
To prove his deep connection with Valsesia and his love for the mountain, Reggiani set up the Società Montana srl that deals with the development of important initiatives aimed Scottish Highland cattle rearing at tourism and conservation of cultural assets of Valsesia mainly of Valle Vogna Riva Valdobbia (Vercelli), a wonderful valley next to Monte Rosa where many ancient Walser settlements still exist.
